Hours: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner: seven days
Bridgeport diner with broad clientele and even broader menu.
I once had a New Year's Day breakfast here--pork chops and eggs--that remains one of the more memorable meals I've had in the past five years. The chops, fried on the Stages flat top, were as juicy and flavorful as their barbecued kin. The broad dinner menu covers everything from sandwiches, burgers, and wraps to Greek, Italian, Mexican dishes, and stir-fries, and they've recently added some low-carb options, which might be the way to go considering the potential magic of that grill. Stages gets points for efficient and friendly service; likewise character--the place shares a wall with a JJ Pepper's and a parking lot with the Marathon gas pumps at the corner of 31st and Union, and it's hospitable to cops, drunks, and families alike. I hear the $8.65 Friday fish fry is not to be missed.
