The new Revolution Theatre Company aims to comment on our media-saturated, self-absorbed culture, but this unoriginal, underwritten play doesn't do it very well. Jill Campbell's script centers on a young woman unable to distinguish between her fantasies about a British film star and her few real-life encounters with the cad. That the audience also can't tell the difference is the show's biggest flaw. In John Thurner's staging, Campbell's dull dialogue is either toneless or artificial, so any lines or actions that might help us fathom what's going on get lost. The show's anticlimactic, unearned conclusion is welcome simply because it releases us from 90 minutes of tedium. Through 10/9: Fri-Sat 8 PM. Side Studio, 1520 W. Jarvis, 312-494-2675. $8-$10.
