Most of the big dramatic moments in Crystal V. Rhodes's sometimes charming, sometimes moody drama about three friends in the inner city occur offstage. And that is as it should be--Rhodes's focus is on the myriad small moments of triumph and defeat that make up our lives. In this heartfelt revival--it's the fifth time ETA has produced this play--director Kamesha Jackson closely follows Rhodes's lead, turning out a show that is long on charm and short on angst, with the four-person cast adeptly filling out the characters. Rhonda Bynum is especially fine as the mousy, bookish girl who learns, over the course of 25 years, to roar.--Jack Helbig a Through 8/26: Thu-Sat 8 PM, Sun 3 and 7 PM, ETA Square, 7558 S.
