Stranger(s) The Short List (Theater) Closing (Theater and Galleries)

When: Fridays. Continues through Feb. 10 2012

Adapted from short stories by Daphne du Maurier and Flannery O'Connor, this engaging pair of one-acts focuses on the havoc wreaked by mysterious strangers. The best part is watching real-life spouses Mike McKune and Kelly Anchors deftly trade off playing the deceived and the deliciously devilish deceiver. In "Kiss Me Again, Stranger," Anchors is an enigmatic British blonde who catches the eye of McKune's naive veteran while showing him to his seat in a movie house. In "Country People," Anchors morphs into Joy, a grumpy but philosophical amputee, who falls prey to McKune's Manley Pointer, a slick traveling Bible salesman who's not the salt of the earth country boy he appears to be. Part of Rhinofest. —Marissa Oberlander
