Stress Reactions

To the editors:

As a longtime Tribune reader I always sought Jonathan Broder's byline as I found him to consistently provide intelligent insights into events in the middle east. He is clearly not a writer who needs to plagiarize so that I feel that his use of an article from the Jerusalem Post [Hot Type, March 11l was an aberration which arose from some unconscious reaction to the stressful situation in which he found himself. Anyone who feels however that with the departure of Broder the reportage from Israel will magically become more positive is deluded. That the Israeli government is so determined to block all reports from the occupied territories indicates the degree to which they are threatened by the exercise of a free press.
