When: Fridays, Saturdays. Continues through April 10 2010
Eric comes back home to Sullivan for his ten-year high-school reunion, only to discover that nobody remembers him. But then everyone in town is oblivious to everything outside their bizarre little spheres of interest. The mayor runs a sex-therapy practice while waiting for his blacksmith shop to take off. The superrich school board chair donates bell towers to colleges around the country. The most promising business is a funeral home that dresses cadavers as clowns. It turns out Eric has returned to exact revenge on his smug, insular former neighbors--an idea that might pay off if playwright Luke Krueger were to tie his myriad, strained subplots together into a coherent narrative. The strong cast of this Simple Theatre production, directed by Jonathan Thomas, would surely be up for the challenge. --Justin Hayford
