Chain steak house with jazz nightly.
If you found Sullivan's in a suburban mall or a small town in rural Wisconsin, you'd be mighty pleased. But in downtown Chicago, within spitting distance of Morton's, Gibsons, Keefer's, Chicago Chop House, and God knows how many others, there is no earthly reason to go this offspring of a Texas chain. The fare is limited to a dozen steaks and chops and a small selection of seafood, and while everything's fine, nothing's exceptional. To be fair, my two experiences here are limited to large tables in semiprivate rooms, but we did order from the menu. My rib eye was tasty but not well trimmed; the Lyonnaise potatoes were soggy, as though they had been steamed. Service was smooth and professional, and there's jazz nightly.
