At the age of 17, in 1953, Hans-Jurgen Syberberg, the future filmmaker of Hitler, A Film from Germany and Parsifal), was allowed by Bertolt Brecht to film performances by the Berliner Ensemble silently with an 8-millimeter camera, Forty years later, he put this material together to yield this 90-minute feature with intertitles and commentary.
