Casual, kid-friendly Evanston cafe with broad American menu.
It doesn't look like much from the outside; inside, it's spacious and has tasteful touches, but still has a plastic feel that doesn't inspire confidence. As it turns out, the food is quite good and also modestly priced. I had chicken marsala, which came with angel-hair pasta topped with a wonderful fresh-tasting tomato sauce. There are quite a few different affordable wines, but the staff doesn't seem used to serving them. Soup came with wrapped saltines, as if this were a diner. It may not be haute, but it's definitely worth what they charge.
