Thanks for the Enemies

To the editors:

Thank you for publishing Kitry Krause's article ["Enemies," March 23]. Those of us who have yet to cast away our cultural heritage can appreciate the courage of the Palestinians and Jews, who meet with the Other face to face. The success of this group provides us with hope, for we are seldom able to tolerate those who we believe are different from us much less able to struggle to accept them. Confronting their hatred and fear, ambition and love with each other is an alternative means of coming to terms with our age-old animosities. Once again, I appreciate Ms. Krause's presence in the group and her ability to delineate the narrow passageway these individuals traverse, as well as the Reader's sensitivity to letting the article be printed in its entirety.
