That Just Happened Member Picks New Review (Theater and Comedy)

When: Fridays. Continues through Feb. 6 2015

Now in its sixth season, CIC's weekly comedy news hour offers bright, colorful sketch driven by hosts Julie Marchiano and Zack Mast (or "Pageboy" and "White Urkel," as they're lovingly referred to during the show). A few bits fell flat, but much was solid, propelled by the group's seemingly unquenchable thirst for zaniness. The cast succeed when they worry less about lines and index cards and just go all-out wacky—like Andy Bolduc as the pissed-off guy whose Netflix account we're all using. Or Andy Bolduc as an oblivious wolf trapper with an overblown French accent. Actually, pretty much any scene with Bolduc, whose improv style effectively oscillates between manic aggression and hilarity. If there's a CIC comedy brand, he may as well be its ambassador. —Chloe Riley
