Post No Bills on January 23, 1998, opened with the following sentence: "'When Mike Tyson hooked up with Robin Givens, most white folks figured, "They're both niggers, that's cool,"' says New York clarinetist, composer, and bandleader Don Byron." I object to the language and the cynical, racist attitude implied by these words. If Americans are going to heal their wounds, they first have to stop picking at the scabs. When Mike Tyson hooked up with Robin Givens, this particular white guy thought, "Who's Robin Givens?"
