That's Right, You're Wrong

The film debut of Kay Kyser and his Kollege of Musical Knowledge is the principal claim to fame (if that's what you want to call it) of this 1939 RKO musical, about a bandleader (what else?) who goes to Hollywood to make a movie and winds up alienating the studio brass. With Lucille Ball, Dennis O'Keefe, Adolphe Menjou, May Robson, Edward Everett Horton, and Sheilah Graham and Hedda Hopper just being themselves; the director is David Butler, who showed sparks of imagination early in his career (Sunny Side Up, Just Imagine) but never quite hit his stride.
