This feature set in 1977 Singapore blends elements of the dance movie, romantic comedy, and family drama—and never seems to find its tone. Hock (Adrian Pang), a young grocery clerk obsessed with Bruce Lee, discovers disco dancing when a friend drags him to a popular movie whose Travolta-esque lead burns up the screen. After almost instantly mastering the form, he enters a dance contest hoping to win enough money to buy a motorcycle. Several events affecting him and his family are then piled up in a way that's neither emotionally credible nor particularly humorous. Written and directed by Glen Goei; with Medaline Tan, and Caleb Goh. 95 min.
