The Agony and the Ecstasy

The agony is Charlton Heston, starring as Michelangelo in his historic battle to complete the Sistine Chapel before the pope's money and the audience's patience run out; the ecstatic element is somewhat slighted. Carol Reed directed this 1965 drama from Philip Dunne's screenplay; with Rex Harrison, Diane Cilento, and Harry Andrews.
