Following formula, this mild gross-out comedy integrates a non sequitur—a running joke made by a sidekick—into the plot, providing some payoff. After an endless car crash leaves an evidence clerk badly mangled, a mad scientist reconstructs him using animal parts that enhance his senses and magnify his drives. His beastly behavior—most of the story is about how he finds it even more difficult than usual to suppress sexual desire—enables him to become the cop he's always wanted to be and to get the girl, a tree sitter whose affection for animals explains her interest in him. Luke Greenfield directed a screenplay by Tom Brady and Rob Schneider; with Schneider and Colleen Haskell (Survivor). 83 min.
