This sketch revue mimics a live taping of a children's show, down to the wordy release forms passed out at the door. Clowns perform gags in segments like "Kids' News" and "Snack Time," and education is the theme. I couldn't be absolutely sure it wasn't sincere until Mr. Short Pants worried about passing a background check. Indeed, authenticity is a problem: the cast keeps sacrificing comedic opportunities to the conceit. What's the entertainment value of tedious "commercial breaks" and boringly straight guest interviews (teachers on going back to school, the night I went)? The show could use a lot more of the performance skills of daffy host, writer, and codirector Todd Obuchowski, whose clown training is evident. --Ryan Hubbard
