The Armwrestler From Solitude

Swedish arm wrestler Heidi Andersson goes to Ottawa to seek her fourth world championship at the close of Lisa Munthe and Helen Ahlsson's straightforward 2004 video documentary. Andersson comes from an arm-wrestling family in Sweden's far north, training in a home-built gym in the woods, and because there's no money in the sport for women, she does exhibition matches and sponsorship deals. We see straining faces and twisting bodies and get pointers on technique, but the nice people here aren't terribly interesting. In English and subtitled Swedish. 75 min.
