The Captive of the Desert

The second feature by photographer and documentary filmmaker Raymond Depardon is based on a true story he covered as a reporter in 1975 about the capture of a Frenchwoman (Sandrine Bonnaire) by rebel soldiers in north Africa, who held her as a hostage (1989). On the same program, Depardon's 1980 short 10 Minutes of Silence for John Lennon, about Yoko Ono's memorial in Central Park for her late husband.
