The inspirational team-sports drama is a perfect target for satire: even the most casual filmgoer knows the rigid formula by now, and there are big laughs to be mined from the latent homosexuality behind all that macho melodrama. But this gridiron comedy, patterned on the wretched Movie franchise (Scary Movie, Date Movie, et al), opts for the narrowest sort of parody with its bald references to recent releases (Radio, Miracle, Invincible, Bend It Like Beckham). Someone should tell these guys you can't score a touchdown throwing lateral passes. Tom Brady directed; with David Koechner and Carl Weathers. PG-13, 84 min.
