The Compleat Works of Wllm Shkspr (Abridged) Closing (Theater and Galleries) Member Picks The Short List (Theater)

When: Thursdays-Sundays. Continues through Feb. 14 2010

This comedy of errors--a madcap attempt by three crazed actors to perform Shakespeare's entire catalogue--falls flat. Reworking Othello as a rap song and the histories as a football game is clever, but the other comedies and tragedies inspire little more than shoddy slapstick and forced audience participation. I could've done, for instance, without audience members' portrayals of Ophelia's id, ego, and superego. Jamin Gahm, Jennifer Reeves Wilson, and Mark Stickney form a talented, completely committed cast, yet Paul Packer's production for NightBlue Theatre fails either to represent or parody the Bard. --Marissa Oberlander
