In this Puerto Rican chiller, a young woman returns to Rosale, the small village where she grew up, to convert her father's mansion into a museum dedicated to his work as a successful cancer researcher. But her arrival is greeted with ominous disdain by the impoverished locals and followed by a string of supernatural occurrences inside the house. The film has an effective visual design, with elegant camerawork and a monochromatic color scheme that reinforces the somber mood. Director Roberto Buso-Garcia also pays special attention to the home's contours, a key component in any worthwhile haunted house movie. But rather than let the story unfold naturally, he inserts expository dialogue into virtually every scene, denying the imagery any sense of mystery. In Spanish with subtitles.
