To the editors:

I was so happy to see that long article on Paul McCartney in your last issue ["Let Him Be," December 22], written by that aspiring-Dave-Marsh of yours, Bill Wyman. This article follows fast on the heels of his insightful article on a couple of other cutting edge artists, Bob Dylan, and the Grateful Dead.

Bill, these people haven't taken THEMSELVES seriously for ten years, so why do you? Who's next on your list, Eric Clapton? Carlos Santana? Have you no respect for trees and ink?

I guess to really find out what's happening in music these days I'll need to turn to underground sources like Newsweek, or USA Today, or the Tribune.

Where for art thou, Renaldo?
