A workmanlike video (1990, 53 min.) profiling Django Reinhardt, the Romany jazz guitarist who influenced an entire generation of players. Director John Jeremy interviews Reinhardt's son, Babik, and visits an annual festival held in the guitarist's honor, but only the musical excerpts are special. Jeremy's Dear Ken Burns (2001, 26 min.) is more original: over mostly black-and-white stills, poets and musicians—the voices excluded from Burns's opus on jazz—describe what the music means to them.
