The Down Side of Suicide: A Divine Comedy Closing (Theater and Galleries) Member Picks The Short List (Theater)

When: Wednesdays, Sat., July 3, Fri., July 9, Fri., July 16 and Sat., July 31. Continues through June 30 2010

Killed by a vodka enema, a college student goes to the hell of cheap, offensive comedy. The roadside attractions include Rosa Parks being sentenced to the back of the bus for all eternity, Jesus farting on a fallen angel, and a slew of racially stereotyped roles for the all-white cast. When the show isn't busy offending, it just bores. Long stretches wallow--as much as a torrent of 30-second scenes can wallow--in a miasma of celebrity and pop-culture references. Descending from on high in the final seconds, a saccharine moral only makes this catastrophe seem trashier. --Keith Griffith
