The Edge and Back The Short List (Theater) Closing (Theater and Galleries)

When: Thursdays. Continues through May 20 2010

Stabbed seven times, small-town Arkansas boy Dale has just one item on his bucket list: "implanting his seed" in Mary Lou Jenkins, the girl he's loved since grade school. His buddy Philip promises to help, but it turns out that he's porking Mary Lou himself--and is eager to help Dale shuffle off this mortal coil. Under Mark Vannier's direction, this 60-minute comedy plays like an underdeveloped long-form improvisation, and neither Justin Howard (Dale) nor Aaron Alonso (Philip) seems comfortable in his role. But Tyler Patocka shines as a disgruntled barkeep prone to barking out aphorisms such as, "Memories are what your brain shits out to keep you from being a retard." --Kerry Reid
