The Journeymen Theater Company presents its annual Christmas show, a blackly comic Behind the Music-style look at some sordid goings-on up at the north pole. The first time I saw this it seemed too mean-spirited to be funny, but Jeff Goode's writing is about shock value from start to finish: I now suspect only a ferociously humorless attack could uncover many laughs in the material. Some of the actors adopt the fierce approach to good effect and some don't--but the whole team is harnessed to flabby soliloquies that're all too long by half. Through 12/23: Fri-Sat 11:30 PM, Sun 7:30 PM, Theatre Building Chicago, 1225 W. Belmont, 773-327-5252, $20.
