This screen version of Naomi Wolf's 2007 nonfiction book follows the template of An Inconvenient Truth: a framing sequence of the author lecturing, documentary footage that illustrates her alarming points, and a hopeful, proactive ending to keep you from shooting yourself. Her thesis is the familiar liberal complaint that America is becoming a fascist country, though the ten parallels she draws between the Bush administration and the Third Reich are cumulatively persuasive. Some might argue that her thesis has been invalidated by the election of Barack Obama, but it's worth remembering that in the heat of the campaign he caved on the FISA compromise that let telecoms off the hook for their warrantless wiretapping. Ricki Stern and Annie Sundberg directed. 73 min.
