The Fest for Beatles Fans

This weekend’s midwest installment of the long-running Fest for Beatles Fans celebrates a 50th anniversary: on August 14, 1960, a band of Brits called the Quarrymen changed their name to the Beatles. Attractions at the fest include the premiere of a forgotten song cowritten by George Harrison in 1971, performances by three former members of Paul McCartney’s band Wings, and a sneak preview of a film about John Lennon’s early years. Terri Hemmert of WXRT emcees. Through Sunday.
