The Foreigners

An elderly woman opens a large box from Turkey and peers into it, initiating a crazy quilt of scenes in which the mayor of Goreme touts the attractions of the Turkish town while seven accidental tourists (including a spaceman) wander through its streets and the oddly shaped hills surrounding it. Not much of this makes sense, and you may find yourself dozing before the trip is over, but the actors, the real-life villagers playing along, and filmmakers Brent Goodsell, Peter Barrickman, Didier LePlae, and Xav LePlae (of the Milwaukee art collective Pumpkin World) all seem to be having a good time with this stream-of-consciousness travelogue. 55 min.
