Zach Galifianakis takes center stage for this final installment in the party-boy franchise, which wisely drops the narrative gimmick of alcohol-induced amnesia that made the first movie so unusual and the second its pallid copy. This time the demented Alan (Galifianakis), grieved by the death of his father, is being transported to rehab by his three pals (Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Justin Bartha) when they're sidetracked by a fearsome goon (John Goodman) who wants them to locate their disreputable pal Mr. Chow (Ken Jeong). The series has always turned on the power of money to buy pleasure (especially in the Third World), yet the single funniest scene here involves Alan's doe-eyed flirting with a coarse pawn shop owner (Melissa McCarthy), their love sealed by a shared sucker. Todd Phillips directed; with Jeffrey Tambor and Heather Graham.
