The House of Yes The Short List (Theater) Closing (Theater and Galleries)

When: Thursdays-Sundays. Continues through Nov. 20 2011

Howling storms rage inside the Pascal family mansion as well as out in Wendy MacLeod's modern-gothic one-act. The internal tempest stirs when adult son Marty comes home to introduce his fiancee, Lesly, to his wry, repressed mother, virginal brother, and the unhinged twin sister known as Jackie-O. While this 20% Theater Company production captures MacLeod's wicked satire of the bountifully privileged, the ensemble could go further to convey the play's macabre moments. It's a gothic, after all. Still, Jackelyn Normand is convincing as Jackie-O, and Lisa Witmer makes a lovable mawkish Lesly. —Elly Fishman
