The Iron Mask

Douglas Fairbanks appropriately chose Dumas' sequel to The Three Musketeers as his farewell to swashbucklers—this 1929 feature ends with D'Artagnan (Fairbanks) ascending to heaven. It was also the star's last silent film (though originally released with talking sequences), directed by his old associate, Allan Dwan. 87 min.
