The Legend of Hercules

Rated PG-13 99 minutes 2014

Essentially a Monday Night Raw episode with mythological dressing, this tacky sword-and-sandals production focuses almost exclusively on Hercules's ass-kicking abilities. I found it rather watchable for a sadistic bonehead fantasy; the inept dialogue is good for at least a few belly laughs, and Renny Harlin (an erstwhile A-list action director who's been scraping rock bottom for some time) keeps the violence moving swiftly enough. With Kellan Lutz, Johnathon Schaech, Rade Serbedzija, and direct-to-video star Scott Adkins, trying his best to deliver an actual performance as King Amphitryon.
