The Lost Honor of Katharina Blum

Volker Schlöndorff and Margarethe von Trotta's 1975 film of Heinrich Böll's novel concerns a young woman who spends a night with a wanted radical and then finds herself a victim of the police and a scandalmongering journalist. Good intentions are rife, but it's a slow, curiously unmoving affair; with Angela Winkler and Mario Adorf. In German with subtitles. 106 min.
