The Philadelphia Experiment

This 1982 time-travel thriller is caught in a space warp: it seems to have sprung directly from the late-50s golden age of the grade-Z science fiction programmer, with the cliche dialogue, preposterous situations, and sleazy production values perfectly intact. Michael Pare and Bobby Di Cicco are two sailors involved in a World War II antiradar experiment; the force field goes flooey, and they find themselves stranded in an amazingly precise vision of 1984. Needless to say, the fate of the world hangs obscurely in the balance. Director Stewart Raffill has done good work before; let's just consider this film an extended hommage to Edward D. Wood Jr. With Nancy Allen and Eric Christmas.
