The Pink Panther | Chicago Reader

The Pink Panther

The 1963 film that began the long association of Blake Edwards and Peter Sellers, with Sellers as the unwitting anarchist, Inspector Clouseau, pursuing a jet-set jewel thief (David Niven) who's conveniently carrying on an affair with Clouseau's wife (Capucine). The gorilla suit finale is a little heavy, but overall it's a model of that dead genre, sophisticated comedy.
