The Randy Oxford Band at Chicago City Limits in Schaumburg

When: Fri., July 9, 8:09 p.m. 2010

The Randy Oxford Band hails from the Pacific Northwest and showcases a style of "urban blues" that is as diverse and international as the band members themselves. Randy Oxford, award-winning trombonist and notorious wild-man, plays the trombone as a lead instrument while Jada Amy, as the featured vocalist, brings on the sultry with her unique velvety voice. Rafael Tranquillino, an exciting young guitar slinger, sings his blues in Spanish. Jho Blenis, of Japanese-Irish extraction, is the veteran on guitar, known for his finesse and creativity. The two guitarists back each other, and together with Randy's killer trombone, give the band its big, rich sound. The interplay among the band members provides the audience with something fun to watch, as well as to hear. Chicago is one of several cities in the midwest the band will be visiting during their summer tour.
