The Santa Stories: The Naughty One The Short List (Theater) Closing (Theater and Galleries)

When: Fridays, Saturdays. Continues through Dec. 18 2011

"I like his nose," says an adolescent Santa about reindeer Rudolph. "It's cooler than a penguin's dick." Crass lines like that justify the "naughty" tag for this midnight holiday show from pH Productions. Add some fondling, violence, gratuitous oral sex, and a progressively drunker—and less-clothed—narrator (the awesome Jason Geis, who carries much of the load of funny here but doesn't see the stage enough), and who gives a shit about the plot anyway? I get that this is a Christmas thing, and there has to be Christmas music, but several of the tunes are unnecessary and disrupt the comedic flow. Plus, a good chunk of the crudeness is forced. Still, Geis and the cast's two Santas (Bev Bailey and Brian Henning) make it worthwhile. —Kevin Warwick

Price: $8-$12
