The Solid Gold Cadillac

Another of Richard Quine's interchangeable situation comedies from the 50s, with Judy Holliday (not at her best) as the owner of a single share in a large corporation, beating the drum for the little guy. Quine had a certain amount of comic skill, though he looks weak indeed next to his perennial cross-reference, Frank Tashlin (compare Will Success Spoil Rock Hunter?, which crosses the same terrain with a surer step). With Paul Douglas, John Williams, and Fred Clark; adapted by Abe Burrows from a play by George S. Kaufman (1956).
