The Trouble With Angels

Film scholars have been busy rediscovering Ida Lupino's efforts as a director during the 1950s (The Hitch-Hiker, Hard, Fast and Beautiful); this was her last feature project, released in 1966. The material doesn't sound terribly promising—convent girls Hayley Mills and June Harding give mother superior Rosalind Russell a hard time—but you never know, particularly with a film that casts Gypsy Rose Lee as a nun. With Binnie Barnes and Mary Wickes. 112 min.
