The Undesirable

Recently discovered in the basement of a Hungarian cultural center in New York, this early (1915) silent feature about a young girl and her imprisoned mother was directed by Mihály Kertész--who would emigrate to the U.S. and, as Michael Curtiz, direct dozens of Hollywood classics (Casablanca, Mildred Pierce, The Adventures of Robin Hood).
