In Saigon a woman who harvests flowers on the estate of a reclusive poet finally gets an audience with him, a cyclo driver develops a crush on a prostitute, a young boy aggressively sells trinkets on the street until he loses his stash, and a former American GI lackadaisically searches for a daughter he's never met. The paths of these people—all strangers to one another—sometimes cross as each plot strand gently enhances the others in this piercingly atmospheric movie that's edited like a poem. Written and directed by Tony Bui; with Don Duong, Nguyen Ngoc Hiep, Tran Manh Cuong, Zoe Bui, Nguyen Huu Duoc, and Harvey Keitel. In Vietnamese with subtitles. PG-13, 110 min.
