Three Stooges Shorts

These feature-length packages of Stooges shorts have proved to be immensely popular around the country, but forgive me if I find stupidity qua stupidity more depressing than entertaining. An ingenious Marxist critic once described the Stooges as the first and only comedy team explicitly identified as members of the proletariat, wreaking their revenge on bourgeois society. Somehow, I don't think their political stance entirely accounts for their newfound popularity, though I'd like to pin it on something other than the debilitating influence of television on tender young minds. On the same four-hour program will be a large number of cartoons.
