Three Times Two

Three distinctive Cuban stylists are showcased in this 2004 anthology video about dangerous love. In Uno, Pavel Giroud uses fluid dolly shots to play hide-and-seek as a young photographer chases the ghost of a beautiful woman through Old Havana. Lester Hamlet emphasizes color and music in Dos, a tale of star-crossed revolutionaries in the 50s, and Esteban Insausti combines sleek interiors and quick cuts to edgy effect in Tres, a psychodrama about an aroused doctor and a blind DJ. Also on the program: X Alonso's percussive music video Santa (2005) and Terence Piard's amusing short Bajo Habana (2003). In Spanish with subtitles. The total running time is 103 minutes.
