Thunderpussy: A Tommy Bartlett Story!

The R is for "retarded." Wisconsin Dells guru Tommy Bartlett, in thrall to a homicidal arcade game and its knife-wielding Humpty Dumpty sidekick, lures foreign tourists to the pair's amusement-park lair. In return the villains promise to provide Bartlett the final component of Thunderpussy, the world's most preposterous roller coaster. Fleshing out this tissue-thin premise with nothing more than cocaine jokes, Michael McDonald references, and some aggressively approximate accents, the crack ensemble--who also cowrote--single-mindedly give the dumb its devilish due. Kyle Dolan is mincingly hilarious, both in dowdy Brit drag and as the killer claw machine, and Brian Wilson and Tim Baltz are Pajama Man-tastic as an offbeat Icelandic duo. But high-energy Emily Wilson and her high-octane sight gag steal the show. --Brian Nemtusak a Through 9/21: Fri 10:30 PM, Annoyance Theatre, 4840 N. Broadway, 773-561-4665, $15.
