This 1935 musical finds Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers at the top of their form. Irving Berlin penned the score, which is catchy when it isn't witty, and there is a passable French farce serving as a premise. But mostly it's that wonderful dancing to tunes like "Cheek to Cheek" and "Isn't It a Lovely Day to Be Caught in the Rain?" Edward Everett Horton, Helen Broderick, and Eric Blore provide the laughs in between. Mark Sandrich directed.
