Trans-Europ-Express | Chicago Reader

French novelist Alain Robbe-Grillet, in one of his frequent stabs at filmmaking, turns a conventional thriller into an elaborate and sometimes elusive formal study (1966). The audience is asked to supply the story, or, at least, to understand why Robbe-Grillet doesn't want one. Odd and worth seeing. With Jean-Louis Trintignant and Marie-France Pisier. In French with subtitles. 105 min.
