Tutu & the Pirates Record Release

When: Sat., May 8 2010

Chicago’s first anti-lectual sub-urban insult rock band, and perhaps even its first punk band, finally gets its due with the release of its first 17-track LP entitled “Sub-Urban Insult Rock for the Anti/Lectual 1977-1979,” a compilation of live recordings and demos from the period. Quirky and fearless, these guys made it up as they went along, quickly becoming Chicago’s go-to opening band for the Ramones (five times), the Undertones, and the Pretenders.
