As Ross Perot might say, ain't it inter-esting that "Cecil Adams" (March 17, 2000) gets all bent out of shape trying to deliver the word cunt ("c***") but appears uninhibited in using the words nigger, Negro, Jewess, and pickaninny.

Does this say something about Adams, Reader, or will this be blamed on the then impending visit of George Bush (the stalking horse of Bob Jones and Pat Robertson) or the puritanical bent of America.

Frankly, my dear, I find the others far more offensive than cunt.

Hank Browne

Round Lake

Cecil Adams replies:

Lighten up. The c*** bit was in the original letter and my response was meant in jest.
